DustMagic is a desktop app for Windows and Mac that detects and removes dust, fibres, and scratches from DSLR-scanned colour film. Originals are never modified — cleaned files go to a separate folder.
System Requirements
- Windows 10+ or macOS 10.15+ (Intel or Apple Silicon)
- 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended for large batches)
- ~200 MB disk space
- No GPU required — DustMagic runs entirely on the CPU
What DustMagic Is For
- In scope: DSLR-scanned colour negatives and slides (C-41 / E-6).
- Not supported: traditional silver black-and-white (HP5, Tri-X, Delta, FP4) and Kodachrome — the silver grains read as defects.
