Cleaned files appear in a predictable place every time.<\/p>\n<h2>Where Files Go<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cleaned images<\/strong> \u2014 saved into a <code>cleaned\/<\/code> subfolder inside your source folder.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Detection masks<\/strong> \u2014 saved into a <code>_masks\/<\/code> subfolder for verification.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Originals<\/strong> \u2014 never modified.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So a folder of scans at <code>~\/Scans\/2024-Wedding\/<\/code> gains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>~\/Scans\/2024-Wedding\/cleaned\/<\/code> \u2014 the cleaned files.<\/li>\n<li><code>~\/Scans\/2024-Wedding\/_masks\/<\/code> \u2014 the matching dust masks (PNG).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Output Format<\/h2>\n<p>Cleaned files match the input format and bit depth:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TIFF in \u2192 TIFF out (preserves bit depth and compression).<\/li>\n<li>JPEG in \u2192 JPEG out (high quality, no extra compression added).<\/li>\n<li>PNG in \u2192 PNG out.<\/li>\n<li>BMP in \u2192 BMP out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For maximum quality, scan and process as 16-bit TIFF.<\/p>\n<h2>Two Export Paths<\/h2>\n<h3>Process Batch (the whole folder)<\/h3>\n<p>Click <strong>Process Batch<\/strong>. DustMagic processes every image in parallel and writes them to <code>cleaned\/<\/code>. This is the standard end-of-session action.<\/p>\n<h3>Export This Image (a single frame)<\/h3>\n<p>Click <strong>Export This Image<\/strong> in the toolbar to inpaint and save the current image individually, with any brush edits applied. The image is then removed from the remaining batch so Process Batch won&#8217;t reprocess it.<\/p>\n<p>Use this when one or two images need manual touch-up and you want to handle them before running the rest of the folder.<\/p>\n<h2>Filenames<\/h2>\n<p>Cleaned files keep their original filename \u2014 they&#8217;re disambiguated by the folder.
